Medford’s airport route depends on which side of the Mystic
Medford spans I-93, the Mystic River and several village centers. Wellington and Station Landing sit near the eastern highway and Assembly side. South Medford and the Tufts campus are closer to Somerville and Cambridge routes. Medford Square, West Medford, Haines Square and residential streets near the Middlesex Fells begin farther west or north. Depending on the address and time, dispatch may use I-93, Route 16, Mystic Avenue or a local connection toward Boston. There is no reliable citywide shortcut.
A common drive may fit roughly within 20 to 50 minutes, but I-93 incidents, Mystic Valley Parkway traffic, construction, university events, weather and Logan terminal backups can alter it. Boston Airport Rides works from the numbered address and requested terminal arrival. Airline baggage and security time are added after driving time. A Wellington hotel should not receive the same pickup estimate as a West Medford home or a building high on the Tufts campus.
